    Original color on that vise? Reason I ask is I just restored a 400S that had traces of the original paint that is, I believe, the same color as the vise pictured. Matched it up at the paint store and fogged ‘er on. Turned out good I thought.

      Hi Lance,

      It’m pretty confident that was the original color as it had the factory stickers on it and it lived in a pretty good environment as far as exposure to sun and chemicals. After having many Wiltons with original paint and stickers from the same timeframe I suspect Wilton may have bought paint from more than one vendor which led to slight variations in color. When these were made they definitely weren’t collector’s items, so I doubt Wilton would have worried about a slight change in color.
